Economic Damages
Economic damages are the quantifiable financial losses you suffered as a result of your injury. These include past and future medical expenses, lost wages and loss of earning capacity, property damage, and out-of-pocket expenses related to your injury.
Non-Economic Damages
Non-economic damages compensate for the intangible impacts of your injury, including pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, and loss of consortium.
Punitive Damages
In rare cases involving egregious negligence or intentional misconduct, Florida courts may award punitive damages. Punitive damages are capped at three times the amount of compensatory damages or $500,000, whichever is greater.
